Mission Statement:  Our Mission is to promote and protect the health, safety of German Shepherd  Dogs and German Shepherd Dog Mix breeds in and around the San Antonio, Texas area, to encourage and supply responsible population control, and  efforts aimed at promoting the well being of German Shepherd Dogs and German Shepherd Dog Mix Breeds and developing guidelines to provide proper animal stewardship.                                                                                               

German Shepherd Dog Rescue of San Antonio (GSDR of San Antonio)
is dedicated to the rescue of German Shepherd Dogs.  Countless German Shepherd Dogs needlessly die because of neglect.  It is the goal of GSDR of San Antonio to save these wonderful dogs through rescue and, ultimately, adopting into a secure, loving home.  We have a caring network of foster homes, volunteers and animal hospitals who are helping us reach our goal. 

German Shepherd Dog Rescue of San Antonio is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Corporation.  Your generous donations go directly to the care of our rescued dogs and are 100% deductible.

1999 - January 2, 2012

Hercules is the "Poster Dog" for German Shepherd Dog Rescue of San Antonio.
  His 12 year life started with extreme cruelty but ended with extreme love from his entire family.
  We were with him when he passed on to The Rainbow Bridge.  He now runs with 
a long line of beautiful dogs that passed on before him.  Please read about "Herc" on our 
Success Stories page.
